Tis the Season

December is upon us and with that comes hosting holiday get togethers. Here are my top 3 easy ways to throw an incredible holiday party.

  1. Tablescaping- I have come to learn that 2020 gave us one thing and that was an appreciation for gatherings and with that fun table decor. Tablescaping is all over Pinterest and becoming the trendiest way to host an event. Therefore, this is your opportunity to let your creative self run wild. Here are my top things for decorating a table to give it that ‘wow’ factor.

A)Texture- I can not say enough about texture. You have an opportunity to mix linens, cheesecloth, silks, gauze, glitter, woods, metals, and so much more. Do not hold back on adding different elements of texture to your table. I will say this once and only once if you want to throw a spectacular party do NOT use paper products. This is the time to take out the crystal, the good china, tablecloths, and cloth napkins.

B) Color Palette: Come up with a color palette vision board. I always do this before planning a table as it is often my foundation for the entire table. I often use Pinterest for inspiration.

C)Dinnerware- I highly suggest looking into thrifting or family heirlooms for dinnerware. No need to break the bank unless it is something you plan to use year after year.

D) Candles: The more the merrier. Literally, I can’t say enough about candles. If you have flammable elements look into some flameless candle options. However, nothing gives a wow factor more than a table all lit up.

E) Real flowers or greenery: Truly enough said on this one. If you don’t want to break the bank on some gorgeous blooms head over to your closest Trader Joes for some natural elements to add to your table. Bonus flowers and greenery often leave a lovely scent that will entice your guests.

2. Speaking of Scent- When you enter a holiday dinner party scent is what often creates memories. Make a meal with some fresh herbs, add scented candles, bake some fresh bread, and finish a meal with dessert and some coffee. I especially like Cameron’s Buttered Rum or Cinnamon Sugar Cookie at the holidays. Both Blends are not only smooth and delicious, but also comforting and festive.

3) Music- I am a big fan of music at dinner parties. It is important to find music that relaxes people during dinner, but also doesn’t put them to sleep. I have a Spotify playlist that is perfect. Look it up under Rana Monet on Spotify, dinner party music. However if you want a Christmas themed dinner find your favorite Holiday playlist or channel.

4) Room Temperature- this may sound funny, but it makes a big impact on guests comfort level and willingness to stay. Make sure your home is not too hot nor too cold.

5) Food- saving the best for last here. Menu planning is tough. I suggest using Pinterest for meal ideas. I personally love anything in a crockpot because when I am running around I like that the food is prepping itself. I also have some reliable and easy recipes that are always a winner to make on my Instagram at Rana.Monet. Go check it out.

I hope this helps you throw the perfect holiday party. Cheers, Rana
